The installations of Jen Reimer & Max Stein invite our ears to focus on the music of the places we meet and draw our attention to the characteristics of urban environments that otherwise might go unnoticed. These interventions aim to transcend our everyday experience of space, blurring the perceptual lines between what is natural and what has been introduced into the environment.
Over the course of their residency with Lisboa Soa, the artists recorded the sounds of Estufa Fria from three distinct listening points using binaural microphones.
At each post, viewers were invited to listen to soundscape compositions through headphones in the location that they were recorded.
