In theory, the sound we produce in a room continues on forever, since particles never stop. We just can’t hear it any longer. Energy dissipates. In this installation, the space is inhabited through sound, as if phantom sounds created with the energy of living bodies, are making us stay in the place. Inhabited Soundscapes is an interactive sound sculpture that converts people’s movement into sound, enabling a sensory experience through body expression. From this piece, Quintas premiered at Lisboa Soa “Darkless”, a performance in which blind people created sounds and melodies with their own body. The artist continued to investigate and present workshops, installations and performances based on this work, making a huge contribution to the understanding and perception of the body in blind people.
